PARENT BABY CONNECTION [Click for additional information]

Join us for a comprehensive and interactive workshop for expecting parents. Parent Baby Connection provides interactive stations for you to learn about newborn care, diapering, feeding and also explore the changes in roles at that happens at home once baby arrives. Learn about how to care for the new mother and postpartum support. You will leave feeling prepared and confident in your journey into parenthood!

Registration is required. Both expectant and adopting parents are encouraged to attend.

Cost: $25 per couple (Includes refreshments and workshop materials)

Port City Breastfeeding Project: BREASTFEEDING CAFE

Join the Port City Breastfeeding Bag Project at the next breastfeeding cafe! Bring your nurslings, and meet other breastfeeding moms. A lactation consultant will be present to answer any questions at this FREE event.

NEW PARENTS SUPPORT GROUP [Click for additional information]

Have you had a baby in the last 6 months?  Are you feeling overwhelmed by the transition into this new lifestyle? Do you have questions and concerns about yourself or your baby, but feel like you are not getting answers? Perhaps you are just looking to meet other parents at the same stage of life as you, or maybe you just need to get out of the house. Come to an open, welcoming, non-judgemental circle of peer-to-peer support. Both partners and baby are welcome to attend.

BIRTH Q&A

This is a quarterly discussion about birth where questions from the community are directed to a panel of experts: mothers, doctors, midwives, nurses, doulas, and childbirth educators, as well as other professionals from the community. Topics may include pregnancy, prenatal care and nutrition, childbirth, what to expect at the hospital, support your partner can provide, and the postpartum period. Relevant information about giving birth in the Cape Fear region will also be available. Nursing babies are welcome.
